Ultrasonic Cleaning

Ultrasonic Cleaning

Our ultrasonic cleaning systems utilize advanced high-frequency sound waves to create microscopic cavitation bubbles in a cleaning solution. Using this technology means that every surface is cleaned, inside and out.

Using this technology, we can return your critical assets to “like-new” performance. You’ll increase throughput and reduce energy consumption with revitalized assets.

How Ultrasonic Cleaning Works

During ultrasonic cleaning, acoustic energy forms vacuum bubbles. Millions of these bubbles form over the entire surface of a part, and when it collapses, the fouling loosens or dissolves. This loosened fouling is rinsed away.

Ultrasonic cleaning reaches the places that hydroblasting cannot reach. Both the shell and tube side of a bundle are cleaned simultaneously with ultrasonic technology.

Key Benefits

  • Cleaning with ultrasonics extends run times. Using this ultrasonic technology, refineries have the potential to extend maintenance intervals by up to 3 months.
  • Without cleaning, corrosive substances become concentrated under deposits, creating localized hot spots for corrosion. Removing the deposits reduces these corrosion mechanisms.
  • Re-cleans from failed tubular inspections are eliminated because the assets are cleaned to “like new” condition.
Is ultrasonic cleaning safe for my equipment?

We have designed our systems, chemistries, and processes to be safe on the majority of metallurgies. We work directly with you to identify the exact materials of your assets to deliver a tailored cleaning process that is safe for your system.

How does ultrasonic cleaning work?

Ultrasonic sound waves induce random cavitation bubbles over the surface of the asset, which helps loosen, dissolve, or remove fouling inside and out of hard-to-reach areas. After a period of immersion, the bundle is removed and transferred to our hydroblasting zone, where hydroblasting is used to rinse the loosened fouling away.

Why should I consider ultrasonic cleaning as an alternative?

With our ultrasonic cleaning technology, you clean more effectively, safely, and quickly. The amount of time and personnel required is significantly reduced when you incorporate ultrasonic cleaning into your process. We only need to hydroblast for pre and post-cleaning, which also cuts down on water usage.
